Crita is a project born of the passion and encounter of three friends, Davide and Livio, Sicilian of origin, and Matthias, Austrian by birth and Sicilian by love. The desire to experiment with new aesthetic forms remaining anchored to the Sicilian tradition gave birth to the Crita collection, vases that combine design, craftsmanship, great technical ability of master ceramists and a cosmopolitan and contemporary vision.

A short description of your collection.
CRITA is an international project that was born between Vienna and Rome and found its natural location in Caltagirone, the city of ceramics. The Crita collections are inspired by the millennial ceramic tradition of Sicily but are reinterpreted looking at more contemporary design languages. The Crita collections are the result and the fusion of tradition, research and great technical ability of our master potters. Our Teste di Moro - Solimano, Roxelana, Osman - and our anthropomorphic vases 'I Sensi' want to be a tribute to the purity of shapes and colors by always keeping the Baroque voluptuousness and the millenary history of our land, Sicily.

What inspires you?
Our inspiration is Sicily with is whirlwind of stories, events and suggestions. All this merges with our attention to the contemporary languages ​​of making design. Our Sicily opens up to the world and tries to merge it to itself. We look to the Mediterranean and the East for the research of our forms and our subjects and we turn our gaze to the North to merge with a more minimal idea of ​​doing design.

Our dreams have already become a project! From the helpless material we were able to create something that did not exist before. We are passionate about challenges and so we will be challenged in the future with new elements and new objects. Beauty stands in diversity.
